The White Shield Warriors kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 58-30 defeat at the hands of Two Eagle River. White Shield's defeat keeps them winless this season.
Among those leading the charge was Dayani Piapot, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Piapot has scored at least 25% of Two Eagle River's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Brueggeman, who scored 11 points.
White Shield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Two Eagle River, their victory bumped their record up to 1-3.
White Shield will head out on the road to face off against Trenton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trenton is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. Two Eagle River won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Northern Cheyenne Tribal at 3:00 p.m. on December 9th.
