AAA Region 8 recap Oct. 9, 2012
North Oconee moved up to 81 from 125 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAA Region 8. The Titans were able to make the jump by beating Morgan County 35-7.
North Oconee extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Bulldogs, 35-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
North Oconee's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Titans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nick Colvin has thrown for 326 yards and three touchdowns this season, while John Jarrard has five catches for 112 yards. Zantravious Shields leads the league in rushing with 171 yards.
A big matchup in AAA Region 8 this week will be when Morgan County takes on Elbert County. The Bulldogs are currently in second, while the Blue Devils are in fourth.
Hart County took down East Jackson 44-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
