In what's become a running theme this season, the Baker County Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Keystone Heights at home to the tune of 62-27. With that win, Baker County brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Baker County found their leader in underclassman Yamise Haygood, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Haygood has scored at least a third of Baker County's points. Zaniah Blake was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The win (which was Baker County's third in a row) raised their record to 13-5. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29 points. As for Keystone Heights, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
Baker County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fort White at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Fort White is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Keystone Heights, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Baker County at 6:00 p.m. Baker County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Keystone Heights likes a good challenge.
