The Vista PEAK Prep Bison entered their tilt with the Eaglecrest Raptors with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Vista PEAK Prep walked away with a 53-41 win over Eaglecrest on Thursday. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Vista PEAK Prep did.
Vista PEAK Prep can attribute much of their success to Eianna Jackson, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amirah Pena, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Several Raptors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shyann Farbes, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Farbes has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Danivea Hughes was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Vista PEAK Prep is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Eaglecrest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vista PEAK Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rangeview at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Eaglecrest, they will be playing at home against Smoky Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Smoky Hill comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
