A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions take on the Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Clint is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
If Clint beats Deming with 11 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Everything went Clint's way against Tornillo on Friday as Clint made off with an 11-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Mario Aguirre was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Mario Pacheco and Joe Aranda did most of the damage at the plate: Pacheco scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Aranda went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Aranda is becoming a predictor of Clint's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-0-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Abraham Medina was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Clint was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Deming came up short against Riverside on Friday, falling 10-4. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.
Isaac Martinez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Deming dropped their record down to 2-1 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Clint, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Clint has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .470. However, it's not like Deming struggles in that department as they've averaged .451. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
