Skipstone Academy is 1-8 against Calvary Christian since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Skipstone Academy Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Calvary Christian Knights at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Skipstone Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 35-26 victory over Cherokee Christian. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Skipstone Academy.
Ethan Miller was his usual excellent self, rushing for 202 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 87 yards and a touchdown. Miller's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian waltzed into Friday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against The King's Academy by a score of 23-13.
Luke Zevac and De'andre Heard were among the main playmakers for Calvary Christian as the former rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown and the latter rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.
Skipstone Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Calvary Christian, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Skipstone Academy came up short against Calvary Christian when the teams last played on November 3rd, falling 21-10. Can Skipstone Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
