After only one point in their last contest, the Meade County Green Waves made sure to put some points up on the board against Muhlenberg County on Friday. Meade County blew past Muhlenberg County 70-40 at home. That 30 point margin sets a new team best for Meade County this season.
Paige Medley was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with six assists and five steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Harrison, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Meade County was without their leading scorer, Peyton Bradley, in Friday's match. With Bradley sidelined, Meade County had to make some big changes to the lineup. Three players got more time on the court than they're used to: Jaycelyn Nevitt (ten), Addie Stull (24), and Harrison (20). The trio had averaged 4.81, 10.76, and 8.78 minutes respectively before Friday's game. Harrison made the most of the opportunity, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
The victory made it two in a row for Meade County and bumps their season record up to 17-8. As for Muhlenberg County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meade County will play host again and welcome Bethlehem, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Muhlenberg County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Grayson County at 7:30 p.m.
