The Bourbon War Hawks will take on the Grandview Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bourbon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14 runs per game this season.
Bourbon is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 27-2 margin over Steelville on Monday. The War Hawks haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Annalise Gobin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bourbon got a massive performance out of Kenzey Waldron, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double. The dominant performance also gave Waldron a new career-high in hits (three). Lauryn Hercules was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Grandview's offense. They came up short against Oak Ridge on Monday, falling 17-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Bourbon's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Grandview, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bourbon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .388. However, it's not like Grandview struggles in that department as they've averaged .414. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
