After five games on the road, Maypearl is heading back home. They will take on the Martins Mill Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maypearl has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
Last Saturday, Maypearl was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 51-47 to Life Oak Cliff. While losing is never fun, Maypearl can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 834th, while Life Oak Cliff is ranked 329th).
Meanwhile, Martins Mill had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 52-41 win over Tatum.
Jak Kinder was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Martins Mill's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Moore, who scored 9 points.
Maypearl now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Martins Mill, they have yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-1 record.
