The 2025 McDonald's All American Game rosters came into focus this afternoon with 24 of the top senior high school basketball prospects being announced as participants in the prestigious annual showcase.
The unveiling of the teams has become an annual tradition and general high point on the prep hoops calendar. Going hand-and-hand with the announcement is "snub" talk – outrage (primarily via social media) over who did or didn't earn a spot in the game.
This year's snub hub revolves around the game's biggest omission,
Kingston Flemings of
Brennan (San Antonio, Texas). The 6-foot-3 guard is a unanimous top 25 prospect according to all major rankings services. He is regarded as the No. 15 prospect in the Class of 2025 according to On3, ranks No. 20 on ESPN and comes in at No. 23 via 247Sports.
Flemings is averaging 20.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 2.8 steals per contest as a senior to guide Brennan to the No. 5 spot in the MaxPreps Top 25 with a record of 24-2. Furthermore, the Houston signee has stepped up in some of the biggest moments of the season.
In an 88-86 victory over nationally-ranked Dynamic Prep (Irving, Texas), Flemings recorded 46 points, eight rebounds, six steals and five assists. He tallied 23 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and three steals in a 71-66 overtime victory against No. 9 Allen (Texas) and 15 rebounds and 13 assists in a 67-64 triumph versus No. 6 Roosevelt (Eastvale, Calif.).
Brennan is in search of its first state title but will enter the postseason as the favorite to capture the state championship in the highest classification in the Lone Star State. The Bears have five games remaining in the regular season before beginning the UIL Class 6A state tournament.
Flemings is one of the most deserving players left out of the prestigious game in recent
memory, with Kon Knueppel of Wisconsin Lutheran (Milwaukee, Wisc.) in 2024, Jackson
Shelstad of West Linn (Ore.) in 2023, TyTy Washington of AZ Compass Prep (Chandler, Ariz.) in 2021 and Cam Thomas of Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) in
2020 being other major snubs over the past five years.
