The Parsippany Redhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dover Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Parsippany focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Parsippany lost to Parsippany Hills at home by a decisive 68-50 margin. While losing is never fun, Parsippany can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Parsippany Hills is ranked 79th).
Despite the defeat, Parsippany had strong showings from David Niedermaier, who scored eight points along with five rebounds, and Thomas Niedermaier, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Niedermaier is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Arthur Smith was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Dover scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-49 victory over Whippany Park. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Dover has managed all season.
Parsippany now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Dover, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Parsippany didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Dover when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 53-48 victory. Does Parsippany have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dover turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
