Softball Recap: Ledyard Snags Ninth Win in Last Ten Games

Ledyard won the last time they faced Lyman Memorial and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Colonels blew past the Bulldogs 16-6. The result was nothing new for the Colonels, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Mackenzie Caise was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Mia Starling was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Ledyard lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Ledyard has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lyman Memorial, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Ledyard will face off against Waterford at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lyman Memorial, they will square off against Stonington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
