Austin Maddox was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Calera never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Bennington 11-0. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Calera's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Dibble, their record now sits at 18-2.
