The Minico Spartans will take on the Mountain Home Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Minico will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Minico barely beat Canyon Ridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans put the hurt on the Riverhawks with a sharp 15-3 victory on Thursday. The Spartans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 12th (when they won 16-0).

Sammy Jasso made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Nye Salinas was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Kabry Aragon was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Minico always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Mountain Home was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against Burley, falling 18-8.
Orie Rau made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Minico's win bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Mountain Home, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.
Minico's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. The Spartans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Mountain Home, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Minico continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Minico's way against Mountain Home in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Minico made off with a 17-2 victory. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
