Last Friday, Rome Free Academy didn't have too much trouble with Baldwinsville on the road as they won 59-42. Given Rome Free Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Baldwinsville is ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rome Free Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Deandre Neal, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Surafia Norries, who scored 16 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The game was Neal's third in a row with at least ten points. Luke Hammon was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Proctor ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They secured a 78-72 W over Central Valley Academy. The win made it back-to-back wins for Proctor.
Rome Free Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points per game. As for Proctor, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
