There's no place like home for the Birdville Hawks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Richland a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. Given Birdville's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Richland is ranked 388th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Birdville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three games. As for Richland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10-4 record this season.
Birdville will square off against Colleyville Heritage at 7:40 p.m. on Friday. Colleyville Heritage will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Birdville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Richland, they will be playing at home against Ryan at 7:40 p.m. on Friday. Richland is facing Ryan at the right time seeing as Ryan is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
