Even though the Cedar Hill Longhorns scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, the Kimball Knights still came out on top. Kimball took their match against Cedar Hill 69-56. The victory was all the more spectacular given Kimball's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while Cedar Hill is ranked 142nd).
Kimball found their leader in underclassman Marri Wickware, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Lance Carr was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three blocks.
Kimball is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for Cedar Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kimball is on the road again on Wednesday and play against White at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. White will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. As for Cedar Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Duncanville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Duncanville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matches -- so hopefully Cedar Hill likes a good challenge.
