They took  a  5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Madison Central Jaguars. Starkville's  defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-6. As for Madison Central, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record  this season.
While Starkville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
