The Christian Learning Center Mustangs pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plaza Heights Christian Academy. Even though they lost, Christian Learning Center's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Christian Learning Center's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Easton Rhodes, who scored 23 points along with 6 steals. Rhodes scored a full 37.7% of Christian Learning Center's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Lane Milburn was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 5 rebounds.
Plaza Heights Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Luke Jones, who scored 15 points along with 9 assists and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Cole Stricklin, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals.
Christian Learning Center's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christian Learning Center will take on Overland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Overland Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Christian Fellowship at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Christian Fellowship is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.8 points per game.
