The Cromwell Cardinals waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 54-37 victory over McGregor. Given Cromwell's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while McGregor is ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cromwell got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabella Anderson out in front who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Anderson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bryanna Foster, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Cromwell is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for McGregor, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.
Cromwell's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Esko at 7:15 p.m. on January 29th. As for McGregor, they will head out on the road to challenge Ogilvie at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
