Utah is the first state to kickoff the high school football season. Action in the Beehive State begins Aug. 13 with one game, followed by a full slate the next day.
We take a look at the next batch of Utah talent as we zone in on the MaxPreps preseason All-State football team.
The lone representative in the
Top 25 national rankings, Corner Canyon (Draper), has the second most players selected with five. Timpview (Provo) was the only school with more, placing six on the All-State squad.
Bingham (South Jordan), Orem and Pleasant Grove were tied with the third most with four players each.

First Team Offense
Threw for over 3,600 yards and 42 touchdowns while leading the Caveman to the 6A state championship game.
Accounted for over 2,500 yards of offense and 42 total touchdowns for the 4A state champs.
The 3-star running back racked up nearly 1,500 total yards and 25 touchdowns for the best team in the state last season.
Rushed for over 1,500 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2019.
WR — Noah Kjar, Corner Canyon (Draper) | 6-0 | 180 | Sr. Led the 6A state champs in receptions (72), receiving yards (1,205) and touchdowns (12) as a junior.
Was selected to the 5A all-state first team after hauling in 75 receptions for over 1,100 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Checks in as the top-rated tight end in the Class of 2021.
Was a preseason All-American first team selection and is the top-rated player in Utah.
The 2021 Oregon commit is the anchor of one of the best offensive lines in the country.
The 2021 Nebraska commit is the second-rated offensive tackle in the state.
Checks in as the No. 1 offensive lineman in the state from the Class of 2022.
Joins Bell, Kjar, and Light as first-team selections from the back-to-back state champs.
Accounted for 3,159 yards of total offense (1,709 passing, 1,450 rushing) and 34 total touchdowns in 2019.
Selected to the 6A all-state first team as a sophomore after connecting on all seven field goals.
First Team Defense
The 2021 Washington commit checks in as the No. 1 defensive tackle in Utah.
The 2021 Utah commit will be a key piece for a very talented Miners defense.
Racked up 65 tackles and 14.5 sacks as a junior.
The 2021 Oregon State commit is one of the best defensive lineman in the state.
LB — Logan Fano, Timpview (Provo) | 6-4 | 230 | Sr. Will be the leader for one of the top defenses in the state. He checks in as the No. 2 player in Utah and is one of the best edge rushers on the west coast.
Racked up 118 tackles and 11 tackles for loss as a sophomore and checks in as the top-rated player in Utah for the Class of 2022.
Finished his junior season with 96 tackles and led the team with 20.5 tackles for loss and 17.5 sacks.
His 154 tackles last season were good for second most in the state.
The 2021 BYU commit picked off a team high six interceptions last season.
Checks in as the top-rated defensive back in Utah from the Class of 2022.
Has landed double-digits offers led by Air Force, Army, Navy and Nevada.
Finished his sophomore season with 51 tackles and two interceptions.
The top-rated safety in the state is a big-time playmaker on both sides of the ball.
Gets it done at a high level in all three phases of the kicking game.
Second Team Offense
QB — Gabe Curtis, Brighton (Salt Lake City) | 6-2 | 205 | Sr. Accounted for nearly 3,000 yards of total offense and 28 touchdowns in 2019.
Threw for over 2,600 yards and 33 touchdowns as a junior. Added another 400-plus yards rushing and seven more scores.
RB — Amini Amone, East (Salt Lake City) | 5-11 | 190 | So. Selected on the 6A all-state second team as a freshman last season and should be a big-time running back for the next three years.
Rushed for nearly 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns last year.
Makes an impact on both sides of the ball. He rushed for 1,300-plus yards and had two interceptions on defense.
WR — Cody Hagen, Corner Canyon (Draper) | 6-0 | 175 | Jr. Checks in as the top-rated wide receiver in Utah from the Class of 2022 and was the Chargers second leading receiver last season with nearly 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns.
His 1,523 receiving yards were good for second most in the state last season.
The 2021 BYU commit is one of the best wideouts in the state.
Checks in as the No. 2 player in the state and ninth-rated tight end in the Class of 2022.
Was selected to the 5A all-state first team as a junior and will be the leader on the offensive line again in 2020.
The 2021 Washington State commit is the third-rated offensive tackle in the state.
Will help fill out one of the best offensive lines in the state.
Checks in as the third-rated offensive lineman in Utah for the Class of 2022.
Joins Lundin as the lone selections from Green Canyon.
Has been the starting quarterback the past two seasons and should be in line for a big senior year.
Second Team Defense
DL — Tupou Maile, Bingham (South Jordan) | 6-3 | 230 | Sr. The 2021 Utah State commit is the fourth Miner to make the all-state team.
Checks in as the second-rated defensive tackle in Utah for the Class of 2021.
Racked up a team high 12 sacks and 20 tackles for loss as a junior.
Finished his junior season with 69 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and one interception.
The 3-star linebacker will be one of the the leaders on defense for the three-time defending state champs.
Led the 5A runners-up in 5A with 99 tackles last season.
Makes an impact on both sides of the ball and checks in as the No. 4 rated prospect in Utah for the Class of 2022.
Flies around on defense and also accounted for nearly 500 total yards and six touchdowns on offense.
The 2022 BYU commit is the fifth-rated prospect in Utah.
Named to the 4A all-state first team last season as a junior.
The 2021 BYU commit is a big-time playmaker on both sides of the ball.
Finished his junior season with five interceptions and over 600 yards receiving for an 11-2 Skyhawks team.
