Baseball Game Preview: Willowbrook Warriors vs. Berwyn/Cicero Morton Mustangs

For the second straight game, Willowbrook will face off against Berwyn/Cicero Morton. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Willowbrook's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Berwyn/Cicero Morton has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road.

Willowbrook barely beat Berwyn/Cicero Morton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 13-3 victory on Monday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Willowbrook got a great performance from Noah Edison as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Edison has posted over his last four matches.

At the plate, Alec Ramey was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Jesus Torres was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Willowbrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Willowbrook is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Berwyn/Cicero Morton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-19.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Willowbrook hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314.
