The Somerset Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Penns Valley Area at home by a decisive 35-21 margin.
Six players turned in solid performances, on Friday, but Somerset still came up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camden Lowery, who rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Lowery's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.
Penns Valley Area's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ty Watson, who rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns. Watson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Jackson Romig was another key contributor, rushing for 16 yards and a touchdown.
Somerset's defeat on Friday dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Penns Valley Area, their victory on Friday bumped their record up to 5-3.
Somerset will be playing at home against Forest Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Forest Hills comes into the match much higher ranked than Somerset in Pennsylvania (Forest Hills is ranked 159th, while Somerset is ranked 329th). As for Penns Valley Area, they will head out on the road to face off against Tyrone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tyrone is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
