Rebecca Franco made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Katie Liu also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Even though they lost, Irvine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Granada Hills Charter won against Burbank on Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Granada Hills Charter came out on top against Agoura by a score of 10-6.
Addison Moorman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.
At the plate, Zoe Justman was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Lainey Brown was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Granada Hills Charter's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Irvine, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Irvine hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Granada Hills Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
