The South Panola Tigers lost against the Cleveland Central Wolves back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. South Panola's tough 66-40 defeat to Cleveland Central might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, South Panola can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Cleveland Central is ranked 34th).
Despite the loss, South Panola still got an impressive performance from Cameron Griffin, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds. Griffin scored a full 37.5% of South Panola's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
South Panola bumped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Cleveland Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
South Panola will head out on the road to face off against Lake Cormorant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cleveland Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clarksdale at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
