The Caprock Academy Eagles on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Plateau Valley Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Caprock Academy earned a 51-39 win over Soroco.
Reed Struwe was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zach Jordan, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Plateau Valley waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They really took it to Hayden for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-17 win at home. Plateau Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.
Caprock Academy's win ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8. As for Plateau Valley, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Caprock Academy was taken down by Plateau Valley 62-27 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Caprock Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
