The Sage Creek Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 28 points or more this season. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 84-44 victory over Scripps Ranch. With Sage Creek ahead 42-20 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sage Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Stephens, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Stephens' tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vaughn Young, who scored 15 points.
The win was the seventh in a row for Sage Creek, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points per game. As for Scripps Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Sage Creek will be home for the holidays to greet St. Joseph Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Joseph Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 561st, while Sage Creek is ranked 222nd). Scripps Ranch won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against San Dieguito Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th.
