The M.L. King Lions and the Seckinger Jaguars will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. M.L. King will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Last Saturday, M.L. King got the win against Social Circle by a conclusive 75-52. Given M.L. King's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Social Circle is ranked 423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Devin Bowers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with five assists and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Quamon Ellison, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-53, which was the final score in Seckinger's tilt against Archer on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Seckinger has scored all season.
M.L. King pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Seckinger, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
