Baseball Recap: New Milford Comes Up Short

New Milford dropped their record down to 10-8 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Midland Park Panthers by a score of 4-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 back in April.

As for Midland Park, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.

For Midland Park's part, Ryan Fleming was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double. With that strong performance, Fleming is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Carrea, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, New Milford will venture away from home to face off against Park Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Midland Park, they will challenge Waldwick at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
