The Orange Park Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to Ocoee. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Orange Park of the 48-45 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.
Ocoee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Micah Hannah led the charge by scoring 30 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hannah has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Reese Bellamy, who scored eight points along with 16 rebounds and six steals.
Orange Park has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Ocoee, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orange Park will take on Sandalwood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sandalwood has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12. As for Ocoee, they will be playing at home against Olympia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Olympia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 335th, while Ocoee is ranked 48th).
