The Douglas Tigers can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 48-20 victory over Galena at home. The victory was just what Douglas needed coming off of a 69-48 defeat in their prior game.
Aleeah Weaver was the offensive standout of the match as she scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailee Koontz, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Galena struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They are winless (0-6) when they just don't pass the ball.
Douglas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Galena, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.
Douglas will head out on the road to square off against the Cougars at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Spanish Springs is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season. As for Galena, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Senators at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Carson is ranked 56th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 66th).
