The Saranac Lake Red Storm's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell to Beekmantown 45-41. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Saranac Lake has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Saranac Lake still got an impressive performance from Caleb Akey, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That was a full 65.9% of Saranac Lake's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Melvin Cirikovic, who scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Saranac Lake now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Beekmantown, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Saranac Lake will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. Ticonderoga is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Beekmantown, they will head out on the road to face off against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
