The Grafton Clippers will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Tabb Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Grafton has three straight victories, Tabb has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Grafton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over Bruton. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Tabb suffered their biggest loss since December 6, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a rough 72-46 defeat at the hands of New Kent. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tabb in their matchups with New Kent: they've now lost six in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Torrion Haywood, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Micah Marbra, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Grafton's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Tabb, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
Grafton strolled past Tabb in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 65-47. Does Grafton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tabb turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
