The Medina Valley Panthers will take on the Victoria East Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Medina Valley put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Cigarroa 49-0 at home. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Medina Valley had established a 42 point advantage.
Carter Hewitt was the offensive standout of the contest as he picked up 116 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Hewitt's longest reception was for an incredible 78 yards. Michael Newton was another key contributor, throwing for 153 yards and a touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Victoria East entered their tilt with Victoria West with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Victoria East took down Victoria West 42-24 on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victoria East to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kason Kolle, who rushed for 68 yards and four touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Nijahrell Prater, who rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
The victory makes it two in a row for Medina Valley and bumps their season record up to 5-5. As for Victoria East, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
