The Manheim Township Blue Streaks lost against the Cumberland Valley Eagles back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The contest between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Manheim Township falling 58-42. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while Cumberland Valley is ranked 16th).
Cumberland Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nolan Buzalka, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Buzalka hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Somerville, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Manheim Township's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Cumberland Valley, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manheim Township will take on Cedar Crest at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cumberland Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Central Dauphin at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Central Dauphin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
