There's no place like home for the Peak to Peak Pumas, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They managed a 61-56 victory over Eagle Ridge Academy on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Peak to Peak's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tysen Burton, who scored 12 points along with six steals and five assists. Burton hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Grant Boonstra, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Eagle Ridge Academy still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Garcia, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garcia has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Wanrow, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The win got Peak to Peak back to even at 6-6. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Peak to Peak will head out on the road to square off against The Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Averaging 54.2 so far this season, The Academy's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Peak to Peak better be ready for a challenge. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Colorado Academy at 6:00 p.m. Colorado Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.8 points per game.
