Basketball Recap: Tristen Carey Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Milwaukee Marshall

North hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They put the hurt on the Milwaukee Marshall Eagles with a sharp 64-42 victory on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 77-57 on February 4th.

North's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristen Carey, who to rack up 14 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Carey a new career-high in blocks (two). Ken Maclin was another key player, putting up 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

North's victory bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Milwaukee Marshall, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Looking ahead, North will venture away from home to face off against Milwaukee Hamilton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Milwaukee Hamilton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Milwaukee Marshall, they will host Holy Redeemer at 5:30 p.m. on February 28th. Milwaukee Marshall is facing Holy Redeemer at the right time seeing as Holy Redeemer is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
