It was a good run, but the La Grange Leopards unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 52-38 to Taylor. La Grange has struggled against the Ducks recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
La Grange lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Victoria Harold, who scored six points along with eight rebounds. Harold is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Campbell Cooper, who scored 15 points along with two blocks.
Taylor got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Asia Zachary out in front who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madyson Mitchell, who scored 22 points along with four steals.
La Grange's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-10. As for Taylor, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
La Grange will head out on the road to take on the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Caldwell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Taylor, they will be playing at home against the Buffaloes at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Giddings will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 950th, while the Ducks are ranked 335th).
