The Buckeye Hawks waltzed into their match on Monday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They walked away with a 45-36 victory over Washington. That's another feather in the cap for Buckeye, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Isabel Ramirez was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 20 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiria Avila escarcega, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Buckeye has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Buckeye will be playing at home against Kofa at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kofa will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Buckeye is ranked 82nd). As for Washington, they will head out on the road to challenge Youngker at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
