After a string of three wins, the Modesto Christian Crusaders's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. The match between Modesto Christian and Notre Dame Prep wasn't particularly close, with Modesto Christian falling 64-45. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Modesto Christian has scored all season.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Drevon Johnson, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Gavin Sykes was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Modesto Christian's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-3. As for Notre Dame Prep, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3.
Modesto Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against West at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Modesto Christian is ranked 40th). Notre Dame Prep on the road again on Thursday and play against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th.
