Kingswood has gone a perfect 7-0 against Laconia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Knights will challenge the Sachems at 4:00 p.m. Kingswood will be strutting in after a win while Laconia will be coming in after a loss.
Kingswood gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Souhegan as they made off with a 22-10 victory. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly 12 runs.
Kingswood got a massive performance out of Miley B, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Rheegan S was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Kingswood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Souhegan only posted an OBP of .231.
Meanwhile, Laconia suffered their closest defeat since May 7, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Kennett by a score of 4-2. The loss put an end to the Sachems' undefeated start to the season.
Kaitlyn Durfee was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Durfee is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
Kingswood's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.3 runs. As for Laconia, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.
Laconia's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kingswood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .395. It's a different story for Laconia, though, as they've only averaged .151. Will they be able to contain Kingswood's hitters?
Kingswood took their victory against Laconia when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 19-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
