Argonia/Attica is 5-0 against Oxford since October of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Argonia/Attica Titans will look to defend their home field against the Oxford Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Argonia/Attica focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Friday.
Last Friday, Argonia/Attica was the victim of a rough 50-28 defeat at the hands of South Sumner [Caldwell/South Haven]. Argonia/Attica was down 38-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Although Argonia/Attica took the loss, they still got scores from Dalton Morrison, Carson Vineyard, and Andrew Bennett.
Meanwhile, Oxford took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-6 win over Udall. The result was nothing new for Oxford, who have now won four games by 24 points or more so far this season.
Cordell Jordan got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnathan Schroeder, who rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Oxford's win bumped their season record to 4-3 while Argonia/Attica's defeat dropped theirs to 5-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Argonia/Attica has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 198.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Oxford struggles in that department as they've been even better at 199.9 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Everything went Argonia/Attica's way against Oxford when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as Argonia/Attica made off with a 60-40 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Oxford's Kyan Morris, who rushed for 67 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 51 yards and a touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Argonia/Attica to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
