The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lincoln, who took down 578th ranked Leigh, 19-14. Jacob Hoekstra ran for 112 yards and caught 3 passes for 79 yards during the win.
Live Oak's Trevor Bearden recorded the longest rushing play in Santa Teresa this season in his game against Westmont last week. Bearden scampered for 97 yards on the play and finished with 316 on the day as his team defeated the Warriors.
Dalton Nold made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Longhorns lost to the Lions. He grabbed 2 sacks.
Bearden was a beast in the backfield as Live Oak beat Westmont.
Bearden provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Mike Gemo's team defeated Eric Buran's team. Bearden's favorite target this week was Cole Campi, who caught 2 passes for 25 yards.
Bearden was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 316 yards on 39 carries as the Acorns beat Leigh. Teammate Mitch Crowley added to the ground attack by rushing for 21 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Kyle Padia's team's Spencer Barnes and Brian Galvan have proven to be a lethal combination. Barnes has thrown for 1,049 yards this season, while Galvan has 28 catches for 358 yards. Live Oak's Bearden leads the league in rushing yards with 1,523.
The Acorns are currently in first, while Silver Creek is in fourth.
Live Oak added to the longest winning streak in Santa Teresa this week by beating the Warriors, 21-14. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Acorns.
