Bellarmine-Jefferson moved up to 803 from 863 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Santa Fe. The Guards were able to make the jump by beating Poly 50-49.
St. Genevieve was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. Earlier in the week, the Valiants triumphed over California City 33-21.
Johnathan Porter and Josh Martinez gave Bellarmine-Jefferson a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Porter threw for 235 yards and one touchdown, while Martinez ran for 240 yards.
Linwood Foy was the best wideout in the league this week as St. Genevieve defeated California City. Foy racked up three receptions for 15 yards.
Salesian's Jihad Vercher and Jermaine Kelly have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Santa Fe in both passing and receiving yards. Vercher has thrown for 1075 yards this season, while Kelly, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 15 catches for 365 yards. Martinez from David Machuca's team leads the league in rushing with 788 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Mustangs take on St. Anthony. Salesian is currently in third, while the Saints are in second.
St. Monica took down Animo Leadership 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
