Muncie Central lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being DeMarkis Cole, who scored 16 points. The matchup was Cole's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Xaviya Cook, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Muncie Central bumped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lapel, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.
Muncie Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tippecanoe Valley at 10:30 a.m. on December 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Tippecanoe Valley is ranked 151st, while Muncie Central is ranked 138th). Lapel will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Elwood at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
