Central Connecticut III East recap Oct. 30, 2012
Berlin extended the longest winning streak in Central Connecticut III East this week by beating Plainville, 34-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Tolland took down Rockville 35-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Berlin's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mitch Williams threw for 106 and one touchdown and Tyler Bouchard had 41 yards receiving. On the ground Justin Gombotz chipped in 201 yards. Tyler Undercuffler helped Berlin's passing attack out by catching two balls for 36 yards.
John Capodice's team's Williams and Bouchard have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Williams has thrown for 873 yards this season, while Bouchard, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 20 catches for 355 yards. Platt's Justin Potts leads the league in rushing yards with 954.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Berlin takes on second place Platt. Last week, the Redcoats beat the Blue Devils, while the Panthers bested Bloomfield.
Potts of the Platt is only 46 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
There should be lots of points scored when the Redcoats and Jason Bruenn's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Berlin comes in having scored 284 this season, while the Panthers have scored 244. The Redcoats scored 34 points last week as they bested Plainville.

Platt made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,808 from 9,963. The improvement came about via a 45-20 victory over the Warhawks last week.
