Gulf Shores is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Beauregard is on a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Gulf Shores Dolphins will take on the Beauregard Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Gulf Shores gave up the first points last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Rain with a sharp 43-21 victory. Gulf Shores pushed the score to 37-14 by the end of the third, a deficit Rain cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Kolin Wilson, who rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Ronnie Royal also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Meanwhile, Beauregard really took it to Lincoln for the full four quarters, racking up a 37-7 victory at home. With Beauregard ahead 28-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Jacori Tarver, who rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Javonn Holman, who rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Gulf Shores to 10-0 and Beauregard to 6-4.
