The Reimer Road Baptist Christian Golden Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Westside Christian Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Reimer Road Baptist Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
On Thursday, Reimer Road Baptist Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over HEARTS for Jesus Christ, taking the game 56-46. Given Reimer Road Baptist Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while HEARTS for Jesus Christ is ranked 411th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Westside Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Andrews Osborne Academy on Tuesday and lost 53-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Westside Christian Academy has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Westside Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Calvin Cottenden scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Cottenden scored a full 61.8% of Westside Christian Academy's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Guertin, who scored no points along with five assists.
Reimer Road Baptist Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Westside Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
