Juliana Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Lelani Castro, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
As for Handley, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-10. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
On Handley's side, Lilyan Shearer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Shearer was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Madyson Thacker was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Laylen Jewell was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Looking ahead, Handley will challenge Skyline at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Park View will be paying especially close attention to the Judges' matchup: after the Judges face off against the Hawks, they'll take on Park View again at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
