Happy is 5-0 against Miami since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Happy Cowboys will head out on the road to face off against the Miami Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Happy sitting on 11 straight victories and Miami on 12.
Happy extended their postseason success on Friday against Knox City. They blew past the Greyhounds 62-34 on the road. Considering Happy has won seven matches by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, Miami faced Springlake-Earth in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Miami came out on top against Springlake-Earth by a score of 42-34 on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miami to victory, but perhaps none more so than Haiden Thompson, who threw for 264 yards and six touchdowns, and also rushed for 100 yards on only 14 carries. Another player making a difference was Luke Wheeler, who gained 211 total yards and two touchdowns.
The last time Happy lost on the road was back back in August. Having now won six straight away contests, they've pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Miami, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
Everything came up roses for Happy against Miami in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 52-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Happy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
